RED 5K Camera – Scarlet-W

Red's newest generation of cameras include Weapon, Raven, and Scarlet-W. Scarlet-W is their most recent release and shoots 5K at 60 frames per second (fps), 4K at 150 fps, or 2K at 300 fps. Just a few years ago I was working at an independent film studio and we were working with 2K RED footage. At the time I believe that 4K was out but only the creme de la creme were working with it so even working with the 2K size, we knew we were working with ground breaking sizes for digital film. To hear that 5K is nearly the standard and there's even cameras that will be able to shoot 8K just blows my mind.

Scarlet-W, as with each Red camera, is extremely customizable. This makes it perfect for any type of shoot, project, or studio. And, with a price tag under $10k for just the body, Scarlet-W becomes a viable option for anyone that is looking to shoot film or commercials.
