Illustrator Wylie Beckert single-handedly brought the Wicked Kingdom playing cards to life. This is more than just a fun deck of cards with creative images; each card is a window into another world with its own history and characters with personalities. Wicked Kingdom is printed on casino-quality Bee card stock and every card has obsessively detailed artwork.
It's a step away from my usual commercial art, and a chance to create a body of work more in line with my own vision.

Factoid:In Roman times, in order to create one pound of purple pigment, 4 million mollusk shells had to be crushed. This expensive pigment was affordable to only aristocrats thus the color purple became associated with royalty.
