Lumir C – Candle Powered Lamp
108
We all know that candles don't require batteries, plugs, or electricity but did you know that one tiny tea light candle can power an LED lamp called the Lumir C? Its shape mimics the shape of a lighthouse and comes in two versions; Mood and Spot. Mood can be used for ambient lighting while Spot is made to light up a spot in a room (think of "spotlight"). Lumir C converts the heat from the candle into electricity that then powers the LEDs. If you hurry you can catch the tail end of their Kickstarter campaign which ends on March 10, 2016.
Factoid: Candles are used for light and sometimes heat but in ancient times some candles were used as clocks due to their constant rate of burn.
