King Cuts by Mike Leavitt – Satirical Film Director Sculptures

320

When you think of your favorite film director it's difficult not to think of the iconic movies they brought to life. Mike Leavitt has taken both the beloved directors and their classic movies and meshed them together to create satirical sculptures in a project titled, King Cuts. Each mash-up sculpture is carved from a single block of wood and highlights different films the director is most known for.

Factoid: Director Christopher Nolan apparently doesn't have an email address so his assistant prints out any important emails, he likes drinking tea so much that he always carries a flask of it around with him, and he prefers shooting on 35mm film instead of digital. He even visited countless cinemas in New York to make sure they had suitable equipment to project Interstellar.
